
This week’s educational game is called Scrabble. Maybe you have heard of Scrabble before or even played it! Scrabble is a board game played on crossword-style grid board, for 2-4 players. Each player collects points by using single tiles, that display a letter, to form a word on the game board. For over 100 years, this game has brought joy and excitement to players of all ages. Older players can challenge each other by aiming to score the highest words, while younger players can focus on simpler vocabulary and creativity using the crafted wooden tiles.
The Benefits of Scrabble
Playing Scrabble has a variety of benefits. First of all, it’s a fun game that almost anyone can play! Also, Scrabble is considered to be a “brain game” – a game that is very beneficial for your health. Research has found that when playing Scrabble, you use multiple parts of your brain, and many skills at the same time. Since no Scrabble game is the same, you will also need to use deep thinking and analytical skills. By playing Scrabble, you continuously build your word recognition, spelling, memory, and visual perception skills. These cognitive skills have a positive impact on other aspects of your life as well!
